We live in a nice neighborhood, but my son has begun making friends with kids who are disrespectful and don’t seem to care much about school. I’m afraid of the influence these kids are having on him.
Recently, my high school daughter came home and cried in her room over getting a B on a test. I want her to always be her best, but she is so hard on herself it worries me. What can I do to help her?

A year ago this week, this column posed the question: Should you quit your job to join a dot-com? At the time, I concluded that “unproven business models, spotty revenues, and uncertain guarantees regarding long-term survival make a dot-com career one of the riskiest around.”
My daughters’ school allows the children to watch TV for an hour and a half each Friday as a reward for working hard during the week. We limit our children’s TV time at home, and I’m wondering if this is just a way to give the teachers a break. What do you think?
